It is with profound sadness that I share the passing my friend, TJ Wilham. TJ was so much more than a coach, referee, and assigner—he was a huge part of the youth soccer community in Albuquerque. He was a devoted father, coach and a friend who dedicated countless hours to making the game better for everyone. Whether he was coaching from the sidelines, mentoring young referees, assigning matches, or simply lending a helping hand, TJ always put the players, his officials, and the game he loved ahead of himself.
TJ was an invaluable part of the New Mexico Rush family. He played an instrumental role in our DPL program and helped our club grow through his leadership of our referee program, referee assignments, and the countless hours he devoted to making our futsal leagues successful. His passion, kindness, and unwavering commitment touched the lives of so many players, coaches, referees, and families. His influence will continue to be felt by the people he inspired and the community he helped build.
While our hearts are broken, I am incredibly grateful for the memories I was able to share with TJ and for the lasting legacy he leaves behind. He will I be deeply missed, never forgotten, and forever a part of the New Mexico soccer family. We extend our deepest condolences, love, and prayers to his family during this incredibly difficult time. May they find comfort in knowing how deeply TJ was loved and how many lives he changed for the better.
