We are pleased to announce Wyeth Carpenter as a new Director at NM Rapids SC. Wyeth will be the Assistant Director for both ECNL and ECNL RL and oversee boys U13-U19 (Non ECNL teams)
Wyeth grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where his love for sports—and soccer in particular—began at an early age. He played both club and high school soccer, competing for Northern Soccer Club’s 1997 Andromeda team, one of the strongest squads in the state at the time. At Santa Fe Preparatory School, Wyeth was a two-year captain and All-State center midfielder, helping lead the program to its first high school state championship in 36 years. After high school, Wyeth attended Oberlin College and Conservatory in Ohio where he played collegiate soccer. During his time there, the men’s soccer program rose into the national Top 25 rankings. Wyeth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Following college, Wyeth returned to Santa Fe and began coaching competitive teams at Northern Soccer Club. He was soon appointed Technical Director, a role he held for five years, overseeing and growing the club’s select program. Wyeth currently holds a USSF C License and is working toward his USSF B License.
Wyeth is deeply passionate about player development and creating meaningful opportunities for players of all backgrounds to experience competitive soccer. Outside of soccer, he enjoys playing and watching sports, reading, hiking, and traveling.
Wyeth States:
“I am pleased to be joining the NM Rapids team. To be able to work with and learn from their experienced staff and high-level teams, while also having a profound impact on the community through different initiatives, is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a club that is setting the standard for soccer in New Mexico. I’m inspired by the club’s commitment to creating an environment where players from diverse backgrounds can reach their full potential both on and off the field, backed by a professional curriculum and a philosophy rooted in excellence, continuous learning, and passion.”

We are excited to be adding Wyeth to our Director group. Being able to add a Director that already understands, and is connected to the New Mexico soccer community is invaluable. With Wyeth already working on his B license, this adds another staff member who is not only invested in developing the players he works with, but developing and grow his own knowledge, which can only benefit those same players.
